Native to North America, the wild turkey is a large land bird easily recognized by its reddish-blue, featherless head. Turkeys are known for their vocalizations, especially during the mating season when they "gobble". Turkeys are omnivores, feeding on seeds, insects, small reptiles and other animals, as well as fruit and berries.
